MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Siobhan Kukolic, The Treasure You Seek

Tell us about your business and who you serve with it?

“I write a blog three times a week to inspire entrepreneurs, leaders, students and anyone who needs to remember that they have what they need to be the change. I also speak at schools and businesses about embracing failure, having grit, being resilient and never giving up. I have a book, The Treasure You Seek, at Indigo and Amazon highlighting the same message. “

When and Why did you start your business?

“Decided to publish a book in 2000. Made a goal of 100 rejections as Dr. Seuss got 43 for his first story. Got 32 rejections for various children's book manuscripts. Then in 2016 I decided to start a blog. Got up 40 minutes early three mornings a week and stared at a blank page, no topic in mind. Wrote and submitted blog before bolting to drive kids to school. Four months in was picked up as Huffington Post contributor and at the end of 2016 signed a contract to publish the first year of my blog into a book and The Treasure You Seek was born. Now helping others realize they can do anything they set their mind to. Action is the X-Factor.”

What was the biggest struggle your business has faced so far? How have you overcome it?

“It's a hustle to get bookings to speak and to sell books. But I lead from the heart and never give up.”

What are you most excited about for the future of your business? What is one of your companies biggest goals?

“To get my book into the hands of one million people. In schools, cancer treatment centres, guidence offices, hospitals, universities and corporations. To empower people to realize that they become what they believe so they must believe in themselves beyond reason.”

The goal of this group is connecting and networking, we would love to be able to share some of your stories online. Please see below link to submit your business to the blog! We believe all small business owners have a valuable voice and we can’t wait to share it!
