I am so excited to be offering these small group sessions again! They are such a great way to brainstorm for your business, bounce ideas off of seasoned professionals, and what better way to grow your business than through community problem solving?
As some of you know, last week I tackled a HUGE thing. I finally (after many months of winging it) nailed down my business growth strategy for 2019!!!!
Now this shouldn’t be a surprise, right? “Of course I have a strategy!” I mean, I’m an award winning designer and run a group that encourages small business owners to get their shit together. But for the first year of business, my strategy has been just “take what comes and do a hella good job with it” AND GUYS! THAT WAS NOT ENOUGH!
This year, I am aiming to do all our holiday shopping with local small owned businesses and supporting them through the GOD AWFUL CANADA POST STRIKE by either picking up or going to shows! Most of our shopping is being done through businesses in Oakville, Burlington and Hamilton to make sure our impact helps locally before globally😍 Thank you makers for creating beautiful things that are not just beautiful but have some heart and soul put into their creation!
Without word of mouth referrals, my business would never have gotten off the ground! Having happy clients, who in turn refer me to more happy clients, is 100% why I love what I do. Being able to contribute to the small business community, while running my own business is the dream (and so far so good!)
As a way to say “THANK YOU!” to all my amazing clients who so graciously allow me to join them on their branding journey, I am happily putting in place some referral bonuses!
If you follow my Facebook Page, you will have noticed a great little announcement on the 2nd. I was nominated for FOUR Oakville Readers Choice Awards! Which is super exciting and works well, as I am always super stoked about supporting our local business community.
I am absolutely loving contributing to small businesses around the world through guest blogging, teaching, and engaging in great conversation with fellow #Bossbabes! This post was a guest post for Forever Influenced, on the topic of finally “Taking the Leap into Entrepreneurship”.
It's happened. School is out, and my crazy life has gotten (1) ten year old crazier. BUT we are going to make an attempt at keeping this summer productive, adventurous and most importantly fun!
With that in mind, I have a few plans and things that we will be regularly implementing! Check out my plans, let me know yours and at the end of the summer we can all laugh at how they so desperately changed.
Tattoos, piercings, and fun hair colours are quickly becoming more acceptable in mainstream society. Whether you choose to remain unmarked or flaunt a world of artistic expressions, body art and creative hair styles may still affect your clients view of your business and your professionalism as a business owner.
… Now add in the way some adults speak to our youth, add in the snide remarks and social stereotypes, and you my friend have a young mother that may start doubting her capabilities; much like a new entrepreneur nursing their first start-up. Being labelled as that "Teen Mom" who "won't graduate", "can't work", "will sit on welfare", did not work for me. Those labels were unfair, unjustified, and uneducated; and I did everything in my power to push against them. That same push to do better has been essential in how I run my business, and I handle negative feedback with the same grace that I would award a snarky mom at the playground, take the genuine feedback, ignore the personal side of it, and work to improve.
